Quest Travel (QT) was eestablished 15 years ago and is one of the UK's leading independent long haul travel specialists. With offices in York, Kingston upon Thames and Swansea, QT provide a local service on a nation-wide basis. We were requested to completely rewrite their existing web site using open source technologies and introduce changes and improvements.
A detailed Feature Specification was written outlining the work to be carried out. We developed a flight search engine displaying flights and holiday packages. Users can book holidays online, request brochures, request quotes, view airport information in different countries and subscribe to automatic flight offers by email.
Our graphic designers created a completely new look and feel to the site with high quality design and excellent navigation facilities. We had to create a professional look in accordance with internet design standards but in line with QT existing art work.
We developed powerful Admin tools for QT management, providing them with maximum control over the site. Administrator can create users ('Managers') with different levels of access and assign them with rights for modifying sections of the site. Admin can create holiday packages, set prices and dates, add airports, hotels and flight details. Admin can also create appealing news letters and mailing lists. Each manager can update sections of the site according to the rights assigned to him by Admin.
